Tips from Agriculture Safety Day

Agriculture Safety Day was in Yakima and Wenatchee last month (thanks for stopping by our booth if you were there). Many safety resources were shared. Some of our favorites include: - BEST tools (Brainstorm Ergonomic Solutions Tool), helps you brainstorm ways to help avoid or ameliorate ergonomic risks: https://saif.adobeconnect.com/pnci3gmi499z/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery, - Safe lifting calculator, shows what weight you can safely lift items from different heights: https://osha.oregon.gov/OSHAPubs/apps/liftcalc/lift-calculator.html, - A suicide prevention training: https://www.qprinstitute.com/, - Suicide prevention hotline: 988 and https://988lifeline.org/, and help for those in the agriculture industry: https://extension.wsu.edu/skagit/suicide-prevention/. - As always, our friends at https://deohs.washington.edu/pnash/ also have tons of resources available, including a new app that translates the safety labels from commonly-used pesticides. If you are in the agricultural industry, consider visiting the ASD next February!
