Heads up! The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced proposed changes to its drug-testing regulations under 49 CFR part 40. Along with some technical updates,  of the key updates is the plan to add fentanyl—a powerful synthetic opioid—and its metabolite, norfentanyl, to the standard drug-testing panel. Read the proposal information here.
At Worker Care, we believe it’s important to keep our clients informed of these potential changes. While the DOT has not yet set a date for when these updates will take effect, knowing what’s being proposed allows you to stay prepared and ahead of the curve.
Alongside these regulatory updates, we also want to remind you about the importance of having a Standing Order on file. This provides us with your specific instructions for non-DOT drug screens. By completing the Standing Order in advance, you give us the details we need to perform screenings smoothly and accurately.
We have developed a new form to help us understand what your standing order should include. If you have a drug screening agreement in place with us, please fill out the form on the link here: [Complete your Standing Order here]
The clearer your instructions are, the easier it is for our team to ensure every screen is handled the way you prefer. This saves time, reduces confusion, and helps create a consistent testing process. As always, if you have any questions about the upcoming changes and/or the Standing Order form, please give us a call at 509-575-3677 or email EmployerSupport@workercareclinic.com. Thank you for your business!
